Floden Farm began in 2003, when we purchased an old farmhouse built by Jennifer's great-grandfather and some acreage just south of Wendell, Minnesota. Our small homestead acreage has supported over the years a homegrown garden, a soybean or sweet corn crop, a family of chickens, ducklings, Icelandic sheep, peafowl, a couple dairy or beef steers, golden retrievers, and our six children who sometimes enjoy taking part in helping raise our animals and harvest the garden. Our dogs have access to about 350 acres to romp through during upland pheasant season, along with nearby public accesses for waterfowl, pheasant and deer hunting.
We are active pheasant hunters, occasional waterfowl hunters, and our dogs train in waterfowl hunting through AKC hunt tests. Our dogs have also ran in field trials.
Jennifer is a former member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and completed coursework in grooming, pet care, psychology and nutrition. She works from home in financial planning, which allows time to spend with the dogs. Their dogs have been involved in HRC hunt tests, AKC hunt tests, field trials, scent work, dock diving, 4-H obedience, agility, rally & showmanship, trick dog and CGC tests.
In 2017, Floden Farm became recognized in the American Kennel Club "Bred with H.E.A.R.T" program. We are also members of the Golden Retriever Club of America (GRCA) and Minnesota Pet Breeders Association (MPBA).
Jennifer is generally available to meet by appointment. Because of the nature of her regular work from home, please contact us below to schedule some time.
